Eugene Delgaudio: Social Media Elected Unpopular President And Social Media Will Be Obama's Downfall

There's no question about it - social media was at the heart of both the candidates' campaigns. And, by looking at Obama and Romney's numbers on social media, it seems quite clear who the winner is, by far. So we have to ask ourselves, could social media be the reason why Obama got reelected? And if so, how did he do it?

As you can see, there is no doubt about it - Obama is the clear social media king. The differences between the numbers of likes, followers and views of the two candidates are staggering.

President Obama had 32.5 million friends on Facebook and 253 million views on his youtube videos while candidate Romney had 10.5 million friends on Facebook and 27.5 million views on his youtube videos.

"The next successful nationwide campaign by a conservative must be on the internet and match the resources to compete with the Obama social liberal machine. This conservative will not have the help of the national media as the Obama social media effort did and will have to make up for that in 2016, " says Eugene Delgaudio, president of Public Advocate.
