Public Advocate Remembers the 37th Anniversary of Chappaquiddick
Public Advocate President Eugene Delgaudio issued the following statement in remembrence of Mary Jo Kopechne, who was killed by Senator Kennedy in a car on July 18, 1969.
"This sad day reminds us that yet another year has passed when Ted Kennedy has not been held accountable for the reckless death of Mary Jo Kopechne. As he continues to lecture judicial nominees and administration officials on morals and ethics, he ironicly continues to to be allowed to get away with a murder committed so that he could-successfully-protect his political carreer.
"We continue to call for action to be taken against Senator Kennedy. All Americans must be held accountable for their actions, even Kennedys."
