PUBLIC ADVOCATE CAMPAIGNS AND SINGS FOR AMY CONEY BARRETT

Public Advocate launched its traditional petition drive and singing effort to boost the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court today.

"Public Advocate has delivered 8,500 signed petitions to President Donald Trump at the White House and to Senator Mitch McConnell the Majority of the U.S. Senate. We are delivering an additional 20,000 signed petitions in support of Amy Coney Barrett for Supreme Court this week to the President and Senate.

The Amy Coney Barrett Singers performed before a live audience and are on a social media tour sponsored by Public Advocate. Permission granted in advance to use the photograph, song or video.

The group of singers wore judge robes and sunglasses and waved gavels to assist lead singer 14 year old Nick. Singing to the tune of "Secret Agent Man" from 1966 by Johnny Rivers , the group had different words for the refrain (written by F.R. Duplantier ):

Amy Coney Barrett
Amy Coney Barrett
They're giving us a justice

And taking away the shame

For years our court had put our lives in danger
With rulings that just kept on getting stranger
With every move it made
Another right betrayed
But odds are we will see a bright tomorrow

Amy Coney Barrett
Amy Coney Barrett
They're giving us a justice

And taking away the shame

So many pretty falsehoods we were told
Those pretty falsehoods hid an evil goal
Overturning Roe v. Wade
Has for decades been delayed
Odds are we will see a bright tomorrow

Amy Coney Barrett
Amy Coney Barrett
They're giving us a justice

And taking away the shame

Sixty million babies were aborted
And how many mercy killings were recorded
But now at last we'll have the might
To finally do what's right
Odds are we will see a bright tomorrow

Amy Coney Barrett
Amy Coney Barrett
They're giving us a justice

And taking away the shame
