Eugene Delgaudio: We Are In the Same Church With the Pope in condemning Gay Lobbies-but not the same pew!
The pope said recently he is seeking to be accepting of homosexuals with an orientation or attraction but not the practice. We agree and we have always been accepting of any American or individual who has not acted upon homosexuality or wants to impose acceptance of the orientation.
The clarification is "openly homosexual activists" who promote their lifestyle to children and attack traditional marriage by upending pro-marriage laws and Public Advocate remains opposed to that in all circumstances.
The pope says he opposes the lobbies that seek to legislate and demand legislative attacks on traditional marriage. We agree that is the real danger and we have worked daily to oppose the lobbies and not indivduals," says Eugene Delgaudio, president of Public Advocate.
The BBC reports :
Pope Francis has said gay people should not be marginalised but integrated into society.
Speaking to reporters on a flight back from Brazil, he reaffirmed the Roman Catholic Church's position that homosexual acts were sinful, but homosexual orientation was not.
But he condemned what he described as lobbying by gay people.
"The problem is not having this orientation," he said. "We must be brothers. The problem is lobbying by this orientation, or lobbies of greedy people, political lobbies, Masonic lobbies, so many lobbies. This is the worse problem."
