Public Advocate Mourns Rehnquist's Passing
Public Advocate President Eugene Delgaudio issued the following statement following the passing of Chief Justice William Rehnquist.
"America has lost not only one of the brightest legal minds in our history, but also one of our Constitution's best-friends. William Rehnquist was both a great scholar and a great leader, who was one of the most effective defenders of the Constitution-as our founders meant in to be interpreted-who ever sat on the Supreme Court.
"The Chief Justice knew his role -- to interpret the law, not to creatively legislate a political agenda from the bench. His dedication to duty and justice should serve as an example to all those that follow him on the Court. He will be missed."
