Public Advocate Brief Responds To Action Filed in U.S. District Court Friday November 2 (Updated)

Statement authorized by Public Advocate of the U.S. Inc. Thursday 3 p.m. EST November 1

In September, Public Advocate of the United States was named as the defendant in an action filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.

The complaint alleges that Public Advocate infringed a copyright owned by one plaintiff and improperly appropriated the likenesses of two other plaintiffs. All three plaintiffs are represented by the Southern Poverty Law Center along with local Colorado counsel.

Public Advocate takes this matter very seriously. We will file a defense (on Friday November 2) which we believe demonstrates that Public Advocate did not violate any rights of the plaintiffs.

Public Advocate intends to fight the claims made and, based on the information available, we are hopeful that the complaint will be dismissed by the court in Colorado.

This is a copy of the brief filed by Public Advocate Attornies Friday at 3 p.m.
