Public Advocate Mourns the Loss of John Paul II
Public Advocate joins the world in morning the loss of Pope John Paul II. The late pontiff was one of the world's foremost advocates for faith, family and freedom and he never bowed to the forces of political correctness, instead he always stood by his faith and his principles. His success in touching people around the world could easily be seen as millions flooded into Rome during the past week to pay their last respects.
"Even non-Catholics can agree on the impact this great man had on our world," said Eugene Delgaudio, President of Public Advocate. "When cynics said that the Soviet Union could not be stopped, this Pope, who was from the eastern bloc, stood up to the tyrants and played a major part in taking down communism, along with Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher. When the radical homosexual lobby tried to force the church to ignore the Bible and give in to political correctness, this Pope never gave an inch. When the media attacked his church for being 'out of touch' because of their pro-family beliefs, this Pope reached out to the world's youth and dramatically increased the church's size and influence across the earth.
"We can only hope and pray that the Cardinals are as wise in choosing John Paul II's successor as they were in choosing him twenty-six years ago."
