Public Advocate Calls on President to Use Executive Power to Save Terri
Falls Church, VA - Saddened by the federal courts refusal to act to save the life of Terri Schiavo, Public Advocate President Eugene Delgaudio is calling for drastic action from President Bush today.
Delgaudio is requesting that the President issue an Executive Order that would instruct federal authorities to intervene and stop the innocent woman's painful starvation. The request comes as the United States Supreme Court, and other federal courts have refused to act to save an innocent life.
"The time for bold action is now," said Delgaudio. "Terri Schiavo deserves a stay of execution and a presidential pardon. It is a disgrace that convicted murders receive more due process than an innocent woman condemned to die by her husband and the courts."
