Haiti In Our Prayers

A massive earthquake struck the small nation of Haiti earlier this week. The United States has actively been involved in relief efforts by sending money, as well as humanitarian aid.

Our prayers are with the people of Haiti.

The Red Cross announced Americans texting to them had raised $300,000 by 3 p.m. Wednesday.

I am writing to make you aware of a great program the Red Cross has introduced in order to raise money quickly and effectively. By using your mobile phone, you can text "Haiti" to the number 90999, and this will send an immediate $10 donation.

As of this posting (Thursday, 11:30pm) this program has raised over $3 million, with many more donations expected.
