Public Advocate to Launch Campaign to Defend the Boy Scouts at Republican Convention
Richmond, VA - Eugene Delgaudio, Executive Director of Public Advocate of the United States, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the American Family, announced today that he will launch a major campaign to defend the Boy Scouts of America against attacks from the radical homosexual lobby. Public Advocate will launch the effort at this weekend's Republican Party of Virginia Convention in Richmond. Attendees will be encouraged to 'Defend the Boy Scouts' by signing petitions supporting Senator Jesse Helms' legislation to withdraw federal funding from schools that deny the Boy Scouts equal access to school facilities.
The group will distribute 25,000 lapel stickers, frisbees, beach balls, bumper stickers, and pens which will bear the message 'Defend the Boy Scouts' or 'Defender of the Boy Scouts.' These items will be given to attendees at the Public Advocate reception booth at the convention.
"It is time that we took a stand against those that are trying to destroy the Boy Scouts because of the moral and religious beliefs that the organization stands for," Stated Public Advocate Executive Director Eugene Delgaudio. "Through our actions today in defense of one of America's top youth organizations, tomorrows boys will have the same opportunities that so many before have benefited from."
Public Advocate has been fighting for family rights since its inception in 1978. The group is a non-profit organization under section 501.c.4 of the Internal Revenue code and is located in Falls Church, Virginia. Donations to the organization are not tax-deductible.
