Delgaudio Statement on Gay Marriage in Massachusetts
Washington, DC - Public Advocate President, Eugene Delgaudio released the following statement today as Massachusetts began recognizing the marriages this week.
"This is truly a sad day for American families. A small group of radical judicial activists have forced their perverted morals on the people of Massachusetts and America. The legislative actions of this court, has showed the immediate need for Congress to pass the Federal Marriage Amendment so that marriage is permanently defined as a union between one man and one women.
"Public Advocate, and the tens of thousands of pro-family Americans that make up our membership will not rest until this amendment is adopted.
"It is important to remember that no democratically elected body has adopted any legislation approving gay marriage. Only renegade judges and bureaucrats, acting outside their jurisdiction have approved of these immoral and illegal unions.
"This is an election year and it is time for the American people to be heard from now. They will reject the concept that they must legally recognize others' immoral lifestyles. Self-government must be returned to places like Massachusetts. Democracy will once again reign supreme."
