Idaho Senate passes bill prohibiting biological males from competing against women
The bill, known as the Fairness in Women's Sports Act, or HB 500, will now head back to the House, where lawmakers will vote on a Senate amendment, and will then be delivered to the desk of Republican Gov. Brad Little.
"We are not trying to do anything except save women's sports for girls and women," state Sen. Mary Souza said during the closing debate. "It is in the state's interest. ... There is a third-party group that has been working with us on this bill, and it will be responsible for any legal defense fees.
