Free Wedding Cake on Capitol Hill!

Washington, DC – Public Advocate of the United States, a Northern Virginia based family group, will be celebrating Marriage Protection Week on Friday by handing out free wedding cake outside the Dirksen Senate Office Building at the corner of 1st Street and Constitution, NE.

Public Advocate will be asking cake recipients to encourage their Senators to introduce and support a Defense of Marriage Amendment to the United States Constitution, similar to one that has been introduced by Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave in the House.

A cake cutting ceremony will take place at noon, with a bride and groom cutting the traditional cake and then handing them out to Senators, staffers, and visitors. Public Advocate President Eugene Delgaudio will also be on hand to lobby for the Amendment, which would permanently define marriage as a union between one man and one woman.
