LIBERAL HARPER'S MAGAZINE: SPLC'S MORRIS DEES IS GIGANTIC FRAUD

In a Harper's article titled, "The Church of Morris Dees," Millard Farmer compared him to former evangelist Jim Bakker, who went to prison for accounting fraud.

"He's the Jim and Tammy Fayer Baker of the civil rights movement," Farmer said, "though I don't mean to malign Jim and Tammy Faye."

Harper's has also described Dees' fundraising as "flagrantly misleading" solicitations for money, while the Nation called him "the arch-salesman of hate mongering."

Harper's reports: Morris Dees'( SPLC) doesn't need your financial support. The SPLC is already the wealthiest civil rights group in America, though this letter (shown on the website)....omits that fact....The American Institute of Philanthropy gives (SPLC) one of the worst ratings of any group it monitors, estimating that the SPLC could operate for 4.6 years without making another tax-exempt nickel from its investments or raising another tax-deductible cent from well-meaning "people like you."
