The Examiner points out there were 9 employees in the Defense
Department earning $170,000 a year in 2005 and now nearly 1000
federal employees earn more than $170,000 a year
Obama has exacerbated the problem by creating 141,000 new federal
jobs since he took office -- and that total doesn't count temporary
census workers, the postal service or the uniformed military.
Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, calls a federal pay freeze a minimum
first step toward what eventually should be a 10 percent cut across
the board.
We here at Public Advocate agree its the least that can be done.
