Iowa Governor Wrong: Chief executive need not enforce misinterpretation of constitution
In a posted commentary(posted here) Public Advocate’s legal counsel refutes the Des Moines Register editorial claiming the Governor and various elected officials have no choice but to do what the court says.
Says Herb Titus, “Governor Culver believes that he must enforce the Iowa Supreme Court's same-sex opinion - right or wrong. To hide behind the skirts of the justices, under the pretense of powerlessness, promotes judicial lawlessness, not the rule of law.”
