Restore Traditional Marriage Resolutions Popping Up All Over Tennessee

Liberal pro-homosexual Nashville Scene blogsite is reporting:

Gay rights activists are fighting resolutions against same-sex marriage in front of county commissions and crowds of evangelical Christians across the state.

The resolutions- some calling for a U.S. constitutional amendment banning gay marriage-have popped up in 13 counties so far and counting. The latest is Rutherford County.

Of those resolutions, five already have passed, five are pending and three have failed-including Blount County's, which grabbed headlines last October because it asked God not to smite its citizens for tolerating gay marriage "as He did Sodom and Gomorrah."

Gay rights supporters, organized by the Tennessee Equality Project, are attending commission meetings when resolutions are on the agenda. In Dickson Monday night, a "good crowd of equality advocates" came to the courthouse-all wearing red shirts-"but the other side had four times our numbers AND they showed up early and took up all the seats," the Tennessee Equality Project's Chris Sanders reported to his members.

The Dickson County Commission unanimously voted to take up its resolution at its Jan. 19 meeting. Rutherford County is supposed to vote on its proposal on Jan. 14.

The resolutions, introduced at the urging of the Tennessee Family Action Council and other Christian Right organizations, urge the state's officialdom to disregard the Supreme Court's ruling legalizing same-sex marriage.....................
